Details

Description: Enabling devtmpfs support (without automatic mounting) can take some advantages with the current system.

For example, booting the system with "init=/bin/bash", then "mount -t devtmpfs none /dev", will get all discovered devices by the kernel, so there is no need to start manually udevd under this situation.

Also, in a future (when kernels below 2.6.32 will not supported), mkinitcpio and initscripts can use it.

I am saying no. We don't really need it, we can always start udev. Arch is not for embedded devices where this would be necessary.

Yes you will break all uuid stuff, udev is much more flexible there.
So also a no from my side.
