DetailsDescription:
Conkeror uses a small helper program, conkeror-spawn-helper, to run external programs (for example, a PDF viewer). In recent versions of Conkeror, I get an error message when I try running external programs: call interactively: Error: Error spawning process: conkeror-spawn-helper not found; try running "make" After consulting with folks in #conkeror, it looks like the conkeror-spawn-helper program needs to be in the same directory as conkeror's application.ini file. Running ln -s /usr/bin/conkeror-spawn-helper /usr/share/conkeror fixed the problem for me. It seems that a similar change should be made in the package itself, or that Conkeror for Arch should be patched to simply run conkeror-spawn-helper directly (the current behavior is apparently for portability to other platforms). * package version: conkeror-git 20100102-1, xulrunner 1.9.1.7-1 Steps to reproduce: Install the packages, and try running an external program. One way to do this is pressing `x', selecting a link, and then trying to run wget. |

Reason for closing: Not a bug
Additional comments about closing: user message: I just tried building my own version with this "fix" from ABS, and it looks like the official package also has this fix. Uninstalling and reinstalling conkeror makes the problem go away. It looks as though this was a problem with my system.
