Description:
After last kernel upgrade where Intel video KMS was enabled by default, brightness control via hotkeys on my laptop is broken. Disable KMS by setting "options i915 modeset=0" in modprobe.conf fixes this issue (brightness control via hotkeys is ok). Additional info: * package version(s) kernel26 2.6.32.2-2 xorg-server 1.7.3.902-1 gnome-power-manager 2.28.2-1 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) * config and/or log files etc. no xorg.conf, kernel settings is default Steps to reproduce: always reproducing How to temporary fix: /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf: options i915 modeset=0 |

I've got the same problem, but with fedora.
