Oh, and the patch in question is named `xserver-1.7.1-window-pictures.patch` in Arch, fwiw.

Some random crossclippings from IRC:
[02:42:17] <rdieter> patch fixes this bug, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=524244 , with commit comment from ajax, - xserver-1.7.1-window-pictures.patch: Fix Render from Pictures backed by Windows to not crash in the presence of KMS.
[02:46:10] <Plagman_> rdieter: notice how ajax mentioned the fix was bad in his bug comment
[02:46:47] <Plagman_> it all started with this broken change ni the X server, and the fedora patch ajax pushed makes it less broken
[02:47:05] <Plagman_> it doesn't crash, but it causes performance problems for no reason in some cases

The patch is not applied to current xorg-server-1.7.1.901-2. Seems that you have an out-of-date system.

Anyway there is a discussion open for this  FS#16952  and some other task related closed by related issues.

Ah, I didn't check the PKGBUILD, I only saw the patch in the directory and assumed it was used... :-P
