Description:
My MMC card reader just stopped working. It works under windows, it works under 2.6.29 kernel I custom compiled (there are SDHCI + MMC modules build in kernel). On popping in the card, no output in dmesg or /var/log/everything.log; also, modules sdhci, mmc_core and mmc_block are not loaded at startup - if I load them manually, it doesn't help

Additional info:
kernel26 2.6.30.5-1
03:01.2 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C592 Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter (rev 0a)
03:01.3 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd xD-Picture Card Controller (rev 05)
Dell Inspiron 6400

Steps to reproduce:
-upgrade to latest [testing] kernel
-try memory card functionality - doesn't work for me
This task depends upon

Are your system fully up to date (udev etc.)?
Probably this is a regression in the latest kernel.

Yeah, as far as I know...

Doesn't work with the newest, 2.6.30.6-1 either.

Problem still persists in 2.6.31.

I believe the only way to fix it is to report the bug on bugzilla.kernel.org.
We cannot help here.

Bug is not in kernel26, but in udev. For some strange reason, udev is not loading any of the following modules:

sdhci, sdhci_pci, mmc_blk, mmc_core

Please try with latest udev.

Nope. Still need to have all the modules above in rc.conf, otherwise udev doesn't load them. That's with udev-150-3.
