Description:
My system is booting normally until the slim login screen. But when I log-in, fluxbox flashes up for ~0.5s and the xserver crashes.
Same behaviour when I start xserver manually (without login manager).

Additional info:
* affects xorg-server 1.6.3-1
* Intel GMA
* a second system with nvidia graphics is working well with a similar configuration

Steps to reproduce:
* pacman -Syu
* restart X

(EE) config/hal: couldn't initialise context: unknown error (null)
Do you have hal installed?

BTW, Steps to reproduce:
* pacman -Syu
* restart X
are obviously not reproducible.
If you cannot provide real steps to reproduce - you can just omit this section.

I have hal installed, but it is not running.

Is there a official requirement for hal in this xserver version?
Stopping hal on my second system caused a xserver crash as well. So, having hal started would be a way to solve this issue, but it's not the preferred one because I tried to reduce the CPU interrupts on my system (notebook).
