After upgrading to ruby 1.9.1 from [testing], vim will not start and the following message is given:

vim: error while loading shared libraries: libruby.so.1.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The problem is with gvim, that needs a rebuild. See the ML [#1]

When you install gvim, vim execute it.

I have managed to patch build gvim with ruby-interp, but it's buggy. Errors the ruby interpreter throws will result in vim segfaulting.

I don't patch it, ruby will be disabled until vim officially supports ruby-1.9
