Description:

remote login to a current Arch desktop with e.g. FreeNX gives broken keyboard layout in Xfce and Gnome and both gnome-settings-daemon and Xfce's xfce4-keyboard-settings fail to start with something like

The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'XI_BadClass (invalid Class parameter)'.

that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful

keyboard remapping is fixed now. gnome-settings-daemon is still crashin and some different.

gnome-settings daemon still doesn't work and keyboard layout is broken in gnome. it's working for months in remote Xfce sessions.

both debian bugreports are still open. let's see if new nx packages will change behavior.
