Description:
remote login to a current Arch desktop with e.g. FreeNX gives broken keyboard layout in Xfce and Gnome and both gnome-settings-daemon and Xfce's xfce4-keyboard-settings fail to start with something like ** (gnome-settings-daemon:7528): WARNING **: Unable to start xrandr manager: unhandled X error while getting the range of screen sizes "1"..., 1) = 1 exit_group(0) = ? The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'XI_BadClass (invalid Class parameter)'. (Details: serial 158 error_code 133 request_code 131 minor_code 6) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) full strace log attached see also: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=528499 and http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=524992 |

both debian bugreports are still open. let's see if new nx packages will change behavior.
