Could you add nvidia support (--enable-nvidia) to conky? It doesn't seem to bring any extra depends. See http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=19156

This would add link-time dependency on the nvidia drivers, which is unacceptable. I also think this would cause a legal problem: conky is GPL, Nvidia's drivers are covered with a non-free license. GPL code can't link to GPL-incompatible libraries.
