I spent about half an hour this morning trying to get netcfg to work, only to finally realize that it was failing because I didn't have a SECURITY line in my /etc/network.d/ profile. Wouldn't it make sense to default SECURITY to "none" if it doesn't show up in the profile? Or perhaps complain about the profile being incomplete? All it would ever tell me is that dhcp timed out, which wasn't very helpful.
