DetailsDescription:
I have installed scilab, but it refuses to work. $ scilab /usr/bin/scilab-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libjava.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory There is something like that in the system, but scilab doesn't seem to be linked with it: $ locate libjava /usr/lib/scilab/libjavasci.so /usr/lib/scilab/libjavasci.so.5 /usr/lib/scilab/libjavasci.so.5.0.1 Additional info: * package version(s) scilab 5.1.1-1 Steps to reproduce: Just install and try to run scilab. |
This task depends upon
do you have installed extra/openjdk6-1.5-0.1 or community/jre-6u12-1 ?
One note: the i686 package (5.1.1-2) don't have this directory /usr/share/scilab/modules/helptools/jar/ like x86_64 package.
If I install jre or openjdk, pacman removes conflicting java-gcj-compat.
When attempting to run scilab afterwards, I get this error:
$ scilab
Cannot find /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-gcj-1.5.0.0/bin/java
Thank you for the fast reply!
