Please add the "xinput" utility application to the ArchLinux
extra repository.
xinput is especially usefull with the new X server (>1.6), where all input device handling is dynamic, since it allows querying and configuring the input devices at runtime. Just like the xrandr utility is for screens. You can find several examples of the use of xinput at the following links: http://who-t.blogspot.com/2009/01/tip-of-day-wheel-emulation.html https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/InputDeviceProperties Note that it's planned for the synaptics touchpad driver to be configured via xinput instead of it's own SHM protocol. Latest is xinput 1.4.1 http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg-announce/2009-April/000810.html and there's a PKGBUILD in AUR already http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=6744 |
