Description:
No text appears in the openoffice menu. Just blank space. Seems it`s a nvidia rendering problem.

you need to install some fonts. reommended are ttf-dejavu-fonts.

I have these fonts installed. And i don`t think the problem is with the fonts: i can see menu item` name when "onmouseout" occurs.

I`ve found the solution.
The problem was with the compositing. I turned on the "compositing" key in the gconf(apps->metacity->general) and fonts disappeared.
When i turned it off the fonts appeared again.

Openoffice interface font problems are a common problem with some nvidia drivers. Seems compositing makes this worse. As we have no control over binary blobs and the bugs they contain, I don't see this as a bug for openoffice or the metacity compositor.
