With ext4 comming in the new kernel, a lot of people will be
tempted to make the switch to ext4, even on their boot
partition... GRUB 0.97 needs the following patch to read
ext4 partitions.

could somebody confirm this?
before it was working when no autodetect was used in mkinitcpio (i.e. the fallback image) and rootfstype=ext4 was set in menu.lst. This is solved with the latest mkinitcpio + depends in testing.
closing now. please re-open if there are other problems.
