# kismet
(snip) FATAL: Unknown capture source type 'iwl3945' in source 'iwl3945,wlan0,i3945' Simply updating the PKGBUILD should be sufficient. The version in the repos is 2007_01_R1b-3. Kismet docs say iwl3956 is the right identifier for the iwl3945 driver. According to the kismet website: Latest Stable: Kismet-2008-05-R1 |

Excuse the above typo ... Kismet docs say **iwl3945** is the right
identifier.

maybe 2007_10_R1-2 from testing fixes this?

I'll try it when I get a moment ... but if we're going to update
the package to fix this, might as well update to most recent? The
one in testing is still the better part of a year out of date.

From testing the iwl3945 works (at least it has support for it),
although it doesn't capture any data packages :(

Forget it, monitor mode and injection do not work with iwl3945,
the wireless guys are not happy about it, but it seems Intel is
not interested in supporting these features.

That's not accurate. I installed the very latest kismet a month or
two ago and it works great with the iwl3945 driver. The problem is
kismet is woefully out of date in the repos.

There is Kismet 2008_05_R1-2 in the repos right now, does it
work?
