I had the same problem. Just make symlinc to libexiv2.so.0 from similiar file (I don't have gnome installed right now, but as far as I remember it was libexiv2.so.2.1 or something like that). Try maybe: whereis libexiv2 and then make symlinc from that file to libexiv2.so.0

works for me on x86_64:
$ pacman -Q gnome-commander
gnome-commander 1.2.7-1
$ pacman -Q exiv2
exiv2 0.17.1-1
$ ls /usr/lib/libexiv2.so* -l
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 лип 20 14:22 /usr/lib/libexiv2.so -> libexiv2.so.4.0.1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 лип 20 14:22 /usr/lib/libexiv2.so.4 -> libexiv2.so.4.0.1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1994974 лип 20 14:22 /usr/lib/libexiv2.so.4.0.1
$ ldd `which gnome-commander` | grep exiv
libexiv2.so.4 => /usr/lib/libexiv2.so.4 (0x00007fd1505a8000)
$ readelf -d `which gnome-commander` | grep exiv

@Stan & Pawel: you didn't report the version so I ask: are you sure you have 1.2.7-1 on your system?

Needs a simple rebuild against python 2.6 now. Tested on x86_64, python 2.6.2, gnome-commander 1.2.7. Also reported on german Arch Linux forum.
