Details

Description: When running firefox in a 32-bit chroot (on a 64bit system) I discovered that firefox did not display non-western characters correctly, it would display those generic boxes with numbers in each corner instead. After some trial and error, I discovered that installing xorg-fonts-misc package fixed the issue. Obviously, 32 bit chroot is an atypical environment, since xorg-server is not installed, so I'm not sure that this is a big issue, but I thought I'd report it anyways.

local/firefox 3.0.1-1 [version doesn't matter though, I've had this issue since firefox 2]

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install firefox in a chroot environemnt, or otherwise so that xorg-fonts-misc is not installed.
2. Start firefox and go to a website that has non-western characters (try this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_language)
3. After installing xorg-fonts-misc and restarting firefox, non-western characters should be displayed correctly.

We won't fix this, as installing fonts is up to you as user. A dependency on xorg-fonts-misc isn't right either, as there are several non-bitmap fonts supplying these glyphs also.
