It would be helpful to include common SCSI device modules as
a separate package for IDE-kernel users.
Example: I have an aic7xxx controller for my DVD-ROM but use IDE HDs. I have to 'abs' an IDE-kernel package, fix-up the .config and PKGBUILD files, and rebuild it just to use one lousy module. Maybe common SCSI modules could be added as a package. Vice-versa would be good too (IDE modules, SCSI system). Would think to stick to just IDE/SCSI modules and not all the other stuff the kernel supports. |
