Reason for closing: Fixed
Additional comments about closing: This was due to packages.txt.
Unrelated to the cause of this bug: ppp will not appear in the listing anymore at all, since it is part of the base group, and base will always get installed from now on.

Anyone can confirm it? I mark it high because I suspect there are
more packages like this missing.

I check it more than four times, Very weird problem. only if you
select support first or alone, packages in support catogary can
show in the list (which is eventually installed). If you select
base -> devel->libs->supports (or select another than
supports first) like most of people do, no luck.

Yes, it's very confusing, you can check it out with your burned
iso/cd easily.

Are you using the FTP method of installation?

No.

Confirmed. The ppp package is not shown on the package selection
menu, and isn't installed afterwards, even if you did use the
"select all" option.

I'll be rebuilding an ISO soon, so I will update this bug when I
can.
