Description:
2008.04-RC-i686 USB installer (arch-core-install-2008.04-rc-i686.img) filesystem is corrupt.

The following file are corrupt:
/src/core/pkg/gcc-4.3.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
/src/core/pkg/gcc-libs-4.3.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz

If you attempt to install these packages it results in the install failing.

Additional info:
* arch-core-install-2008.04-rc-i686.img, MD5 d332e63817ef4277e44f8aafc5e83cb3
* Tested on a USB pendrive and under QEmu from image file

Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot USB installer
2. Run:
# md5sum /src/core/pkg/gcc-4.3.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
md5sum: /src/core/pkg/gcc-4.3.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz: Input/output error
# md5sum /src/core/pkg/gcc-libs-4.3.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
md5sum: /src/core/pkg/gcc-libs-4.3.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz: Input/output error

Let's reserve critical for the OMG FIX RIGHT NOW type bug, not an RC ISO, although this does need fixing. Thanks for pointing it out.

I reproduced the problem systematically on a Eee PC. The checksums were right. After replacing the packages with ones from the CD ISO, it still fails.

The USB FTP image worked perfectly.
