Description:
The iMON PAD controller has a "PAD" which is used to simulate the mouse. The vanilla lirc does not support mapping the "PAD" as normal buttons. There is a patch [1] available that makes the "PAD" generate normal events. It's more useful for me in XBMC than emulating the mouse and I suppose that holds true for other HTPC software as well. And personally I think it makes more sense to have what looks like a round d-pad behave like a d-pad rather then a mouse. I've provided updated files for both lirc (patched driver) and lirc-utils (new config file), as well as added a note in the installation message about it. The PKGBUILDs are also using the latest version (0.8.4a) so the notice is also showed when upgrading from 0.8.3-3. [1] http://brakemeier.de/electronics/vdr/lirc-imon.html |

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: Send patch upstream, Arch tries not to patch too much.

lirc currently doesn't have a maintainer, lirc-utils does.
Personally I think that Arch should ship the vanilla package, and
the patch should be submitted upstream for inclusion in the next
release. If it's not included, make a package in the AUR with the
patch.
I agree with Daenyth.
