Description:
After upgrading to testing kernel 2.6.25 framebuffer seems to be gone.
At boot I'm prompted to pass a working videomode after edd probing.
My configuration worked well until this last upgrade.

Here's the relevant part of my menu.lst:

My graphic card is an nvidia chipset.

After boot there are also some weird problems with setting 'consolefont'
After the consolefont setting words are not readable anymore until init 3 show up.

just tried kernel26 2.6.25.3 in testing , and still I have this issue..
Someone has a clue? Is only my system affected (and borked)?
Can be an utf8 related stuff with new kernel?

vesafb is working as always here on two machines. Seems like you are the only one.

probably true, the strange thing is that this only happens with 2.6.25 kernel in testing.
I'm using 2.6.24 in core right now and all is normal as always with vesafb.
After upgrade vesafb stops working.. I don't have any clue.. :-(

I finally figure out what's wrong... passing edd=off to thee kernel command line
solved my problems and vesafb is running now.
Don't know why 2.6.25 activate an edd probing while 2.6.24 not, but this seems to
mess up my system, disabling it make things return to normal behaviour.
