Description:
After upgrading to testing kernel 2.6.25 framebuffer seems to be gone. At boot I'm prompted to pass a working videomode after edd probing. My configuration worked well until this last upgrade. Here's the relevant part of my menu.lst: # (0) Arch Linux title Arch Linux root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sdb1 ro vga=794 video=vesafb:ywrap, mtrr initrd /boot/kernel26.img My graphic card is an nvidia chipset. After boot there are also some weird problems with setting 'consolefont' After the consolefont setting words are not readable anymore until init 3 show up. |

Someone has a clue? Is only my system affected (and borked)?
Can be an utf8 related stuff with new kernel?
bye
I'm using 2.6.24 in core right now and all is normal as always with vesafb.
After upgrade vesafb stops working.. I don't have any clue.. :-(
solved my problems and vesafb is running now.
Don't know why 2.6.25 activate an edd probing while 2.6.24 not, but this seems to
mess up my system, disabling it make things return to normal behaviour.
Thanks , may be this could be closed :-)
