The latest miro cannot be built with gcc 4.3,

First of all you reported this in the wrong section. Thats why it was closed.
Now regarding your report. Archlinux is a binary distribution. The package provided by the Archlinux repos works. IMO instead of making this report you should have flagged the package out of date, providing a link to the gcc-4.3 patch in the comments. Bug reports like this are useless in binary distribution's bug tracker. They clearly belong to the applications one.
