The first is to fix broken behaviour in the linux kernel that is triggered by gcc 4.3.0 usage on applications (could lead to security bugs, though very rare)

The 2nd is to make 2.6.24 compile with gcc 4.3.0 without errors.

Ah, it will get merged if they merge the queue with 2.6.23.x. You will need the patch from fedora to compile with 4.3 though.

Tobias, applications compiled with 4.3 may still break, so maybe we need the patch if the next 2.6.23.x isn't released soon enough.
