Description:

New catalyst package crashes X during video playback through xvideo or the playback window is black.

Additional info:

* mplayer reports that: X11 error: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)

* vlc reports that:
VLC media player 0.8.6e Janus
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 141 (XVideo)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 ()
Value in failed request: 0x2e00006
Serial number of failed request: 90
Current serial number in output stream: 91

Please confirm you have the new catalyst-utils package too. I'm betting you do, but you didn't explicitly say so in the report.

I upgraded my arch (catalyst 8.3-2, kernel26 2.6.24.4-1) but the problem still exists, xorg crashes when video player uses xvideo output. I have a Radeon X1300 card.
