Description:
when playing a file with play (which calls sox with 'ao' output format), it fails because libao is not present. notably, when one disables arts sound system in KDE, the default sound play command is 'play', thus no sound event will play. certainly libao could be a dependency of sox, or a notice could be printed about the suggested dependency when installing sox. Additional info: * package version(s) sox-14.0.0-1 libao-0.8.8-2 Steps to reproduce: # pacman -S sox $ play /opt/kde/share/sounds/KDEmod-IM_Message_Received.ogg play soxio: Failed writing `default': unknown file type `ao' # pacman -S libao $ play /opt/kde/share/sounds/KDEmod-IM_Message_Received.ogg [works] |
