After every update, you have to re-enter the locale, else you cant see filenames with non latin characters.
See the wiki entry about "Automount NTFS filesystems with write support (ntfs-3g)", at HAL page.
KDE should be fixed to do correct option parsing for ntfs-3g,
and anyway - if you want to modify some file that is not in backup array of a package - put it in NoUpgrade into pacman.conf
