Description: Guys it's been 3 weeks that my hp printer does not work. It is HP Photosmart D7360, but I believe the problem is in cups the daemon has been failing to start. The error message says "cupsd: Child exited with status 1!" Note that in the cups error FAQ it says when you get this particular error make sure that the daemon is started as root which I am.
I have tried to resetup the printer with the hp-setup tool, but it fails because cups is not running

AdditionDal info:
* package version(s) 1.3.6-1 and the previous one

* config and/or log files etc.
In my cyps error logs I find the following
W [23/Feb/2008:12:05:50 -0800] Unknown default authorization type c on line 11.
I [23/Feb/2008:12:13:16 -0800] Listening to :::631 (IPv6)
I [23/Feb/2008:12:13:16 -0800] Listening to 0.0.0.0:631 (IPv4)

Steps to reproduce:
/etc/rc.d/cups start
:: Starting CUPS Daemon [BUSY]
cupsd: Child exited with status 1!
[FAIL]
Also I have cups in my /etc/rc.conf file, but It also fails on boot time

Thank you

Solved for some reasons I had this type of junk in my /etc/cups/cupsd.conf file on line 11
DefaultAuthType ^E^Hc
so I changed it to
DefaultAuthType Basic

Now cupsd runs again without failure
