DetailsDescription: First encountered the problem when I tried to load a .xls file in openoffice from testing. soffice.bin goes up to 100% cpu load and stays this way for ever (well i waited like a minute and killed it then). Same happens when trying to save a .xls file and *after* saving a .odt file.

Running from a console I get this output:
$ soffice
