DetailsSince the upgade from kernel 2.6.23 to 2.6.24 the hotswap function for the ultrabay in my thinkpad notebook isn't working anymore.
With kernel 2.6.23 I could change between CD-ROM and second harddrive during a normal session. Since kernel 2.6.24 it isn't working anymore. When I try to remove my harddisk the system hangs, there is no operation possible any more. Even the keyboard frezzes. I have loaded the following modules: thinkpad_acpi tp_smapi thinkpad_ec hdaps bay I build the tp_smapi my self out of the sources. I did the same with the kernel 2.6.23. |
This task depends upon
building modules doesn't mean that they function afterwards if the kernel behaviour changed.
It also could be, that there is a change in acpid because hotswap uses acpid. See the page on thinkwiki:
