Description:
Gnome-Power-Manager uses Hal which uses pm-utils. By default pm-utils uses the kernel to suspend and hibernate. For most users, including me, that method does not work. However, userspace tools do work. OpenSuse have created patches that add uswsusp support to pm-utils. For laptops, suspend and hibernate are critical. I urge to consider these patches. Additional info: Have a look at pm-utils-0.99.3-uswsusp-support.diff in the attachment. Use /usr/bin/rpmextract.sh pm-utils-0.99.3.20070618-18.src.rpm to extract the files from the rpm. |
