DetailsDescription:
With the actually configuration, default PKG_CONFIG_PATH isn't set; so, the first script in /etc/profile.d will use export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=$PKG_CONFIG_PATH:some_others_path will have $PKG_CONFIG_PATH empty, that result in echo $PKG_CONFIG_PATH :some_others_path It isn't a bug, but we know that default dir for pkgconfig file is /usr/lib/pkgconfig; if you see man of pkg-config, in the Environment variables, in the PKG_CONFIG_PATH description would see: "..The default directory will always be searched after searching the path". So, if we have two identical entries in /usr/lib/pkgconfig or /elsewhere/pkgconfig, the /elsewhere/pkgconfig entries will be read as first. And we don't want this, because default location is /usr/lib/pkgconfig ( I think that /elsewhere/pkgconfig entries, with the same name of /usr/lib/pkgconfig is created erroneously by some malformed PKGBUILD) As Roman said, imho best solution is set in /etc/profile the PKG_CONFIG_PATH, by default as /usr/lib/pkgconfig. |
This task depends upon
# Export default pkg-config path
PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/usr/lib/pkgconfig"
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH
