After, about, 2 months of having Arch on my laptop networkmanager simply didn't start. Tried to do it manualy (# /etc/rc.d/networkmanager start). I receive a note, that everything is ok, but the daemon don't start.
In logs everything is ok, so I can't even tell where the problem may be.

Wicd installation helped me to connect with Internet normally.

Additional info:

Is the /etc/rc.d/networkmanager written correctly?

I have no idea. Reinstalling it didn't give any results so i guess it has to be correct

As recommanded in the documentation here : http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NetworkManager,
do you have hal before networkmanager in your DAEMONS variable in /etc/rc.conf ?
Alos networkmanager 0.6.6-1 is out in extra repository. Do you still have this problem with this new version ?

Thank you very much for those additional information.

@ Charles-Henri d'Adhémar: thx a lot. According to polish wiki I've put networkmanager before hal. Propably that was the problem, though it's strange that after manual running the deamon didn't start...

I think this 'bug' can be closed now.
