Description:
When I try to change the settings I get an error message "Error saving sensor configuration". Although the configuration is changed for the current session, it is not actually saved. So after logging out and in, the default configuration is applied again.

Additional info:
sensors-applet 2.2.1-1
When I checked GConf, I noticed warnings in /apps/panel/applets/applet_3/prefs/ saying that no key has a schema. Is this the source of the problem?

Steps to reproduce:
On every login

It appears to be in fact a hddtemp problem. Hddtemp displays non printable characters at the end:

hddtemp pata:/dev/disk/by-id/ata-Maxtor_6L160P0_L40ABQ2H
/dev/disk/by-id/ata-Maxtor_6L160P0_L40ABQ2H: Maxtor 6L160P0 : 38°C

These characters inhibit sensors-applet to save its settings.
If one deletes these characters in the preferences of sensors-applet -> tab Sensors -> field Label, everything works again as expected.

I got this clue from this site:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sensors-applet/+bug/94558

This bug can be closed as far as I am concerned.

please try 2.2.1-3, maybe I fix this

I deinstalled 2.2.1-2 and then installed 2.2.1-3. Unfortunately the problem remained the same. I have to delete the non-printable characters in the preferences

sensors-applet -> tab Sensors -> field Label

of the hard disk labels; otherwise the settings won't be saved when I log out and then log in again.

But as I mentioned in my first comment, it is rather a hddtemp bug: hddtemp should not show non-printable characters. This bug can be closed in my opinion.
