Description:
Looks like the man pages are installed in the wrong directory since the only way to read them is to give the page full path.

Additional info:
$ pacman -Q e2fsprogs
e2fsprogs 1.40.4-1

Steps to reproduce:
$ man e2fsck
No manual entry for e2fsck

$ man /usr/share/man/man8/e2fsck.8.gz
<This is OK>

This is true for every man page provided by the "e2fsprogs" package.

This is because makepkg now doesn't move man pages to /usr/man.
Updated man package is in Testing and will move to Core soon.
Meanwhile just unset (comment) MANPATH in your man.conf
