DetailsDescription:
decode_dimms.pl script to decode SPD information from DIMM memory modules is missing. From my point of view, it should be included in lm_sensors package. Additional info: * package version(s) lm-sensors 3.0.0-3 (I tested x86 and x86_64). Steps to reproduce: Script is missing so you cannot reproduce without getting the script. Any serious reason why script for decoding SPD information was not included in lm_sensors package? I installed lm_sensors package to my Arch system and get decode_dimm.pl script from Ubuntu. I loaded eeprom module. And it works: [arch]$ ./decode-dimms.pl | head -30 Memory Serial Presence Detect Decoder By Philip Edelbrock, Christian Zuckschwerdt, Burkart Lingner, Jean Delvare and others Version 2.10.2 Decoding EEPROM: /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/eeprom/0-0050 Guessing DIMM is in bank 1 ---=== SPD EEPROM Information ===--- EEPROM Checksum of bytes 0-62 OK (0x5A) # of bytes written to SDRAM EEPROM 128 Total number of bytes in EEPROM 256 Fundamental Memory type DDR2 SDRAM SPD Revision 1.2 ---=== Memory Characteristics ===--- Maximum module speed 1600MHz (PC12800) Size 1024 MB tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS 5-5-5-18 Supported CAS Latencies 5, 4, 3 Minimum Cycle Time (CAS 5) 2.5 ns Maximum Access Time (CAS 5) 0.4 ns Minimum Cycle Time (CAS 4) 3.75 ns Maximum Access Time (CAS 4) 0.5 ns Minimum Cycle Time (CAS 3) 5 ns Maximum Access Time (CAS 3) 0.6 ns ---=== Manufacturing Information ===--- .... |

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: the scipt is from trunk and not shipped in the source for some reason. i'added a post install message how to get it working and placed a new section into our wiki.
