Description:

The /bin/ntfs-3g executable has wrong permission. That doesn't allow to mount a ntfs partition by a simple user. The solution for this is to change the permission to u+s: chmod u+s /bin/ntfs3g

i don't think that this is a wanted behaviour, the user should decide which are allowed to mount and such.

Users are not allowed to mount or umount partitions, unless they are specified with the user(s) flag in fstab.

If you want to (u)mount removable devices (external hard drives and such), use hal (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HAL#Automount_NTFS_filesystems_with_write_support_.28ntfs-3g.29).

Your suggestion is a security hole, nothing more.
