DetailsDescription:
libao misses /etc/libao.conf file with default_driver=alsa I don't know which output system it defaults to, but it should be the ALSA because both OSS and ESD are deprecated (and aRts support is not compiled-in anyway). Steps to reproduce: install mpg321 on a system with ALSA only (no alsa-oss or esd) try to play something hear the silence :) create /etc/libao.conf with default_driver=alsa as its content and try again hear the music :) BTW, the last line of mpg321 --help says that it was built with default libao output being libao (sic!) :-/ |
