There is no menu entry for emacs, because of missing emacs.desktop file. Solution: Please put the attached emacs.desktop file in /usr/share/applications and copy /usr/share/emacs/22.1/etc/images/icons/emacs_48.png to /usr/share/pixmaps/emacs-icon.png . Kind Regards, Michael Krauss |

* I've removed the Encoding key, which is deprecated
* I've modified "/usr/share/pixmaps/emacs-icon.png" in just "emacs-icon", since it's in the default search path
