Check your pacman log and see what packages were upgraded between those two days

Does the issue occur with the GTK theme "simple" applied?

I wish to confirm this bug. I also get the same error, whether in root or as user -- the clearlooks errors detailed by the OP are unrelated to the application. I get this error no matter what GTK theme is used, no errors relating to particular themes.

try deleting your ~/.config/nitrogen

remove your config ~/.config/nitrogen and then please try with nitrogen 1.3

I had to install 'librsvg' to make the nitrogen 1.3 gui run without this error.

I can confirm that installing librsvg fixes this. I noticed that after installing GIMP, the problem went away (narrowed it down to librsvg).

I had this problem on two seperate computers and installing librsvg fixed it on both.
