basically kuickshow, kview sometimes work and sometimes doesn't... i stopped having this problem but now is on again, here's the bug report on bugs.kde.org http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147830

I rebuilt this over SSH, and haven't tested yet (until I get back to an Arch machine). Would you mind seeing if this (with patch applied) fixes the issue:
