Workaround: Downgrade to xf86-video-ati 6.7.195-3

I had the same problem on nvidia-96xx ;/ On newest nvidia drivers from repo all is working, but I've wanted to use renouveau.

xf86-video-ati 6.7.197-1 using the "radeon" driver works for me. Try my very clean and minimal xorg.conf. You can remove the "Virtual" line under the screen section, and overwrite any of the fields with your settings, but try not to add new fields unless needed.

I tried using a simpler xorg.conf, but I still received the same error message. Perhaps it is because I am using a Radeon Mobility card (9700, to be specific). Thank you for the suggestion.

This bug should be fixed when this package is upgraded to v6.7.198.

Hi. I have the same graphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon 9700) and with this xorg.conf X works fine. Try it.
