I have an anjuta icon in my gnome menu in the programming menu. It has been there since I installed it and never went away after upgrades.

it's the first time that i'm installed anjuta. it was not an upgrade.

and you can reproduce this with remove/install again? I see no reasons why it didn't work for you. :-/
