see: http://www.lesswatts.org/tips/misc.php for more information. This patch enables powersaving mode for AC97 and hda_intel audio chips. It looks for a variable called POWERSAVE in /etc/conf.d/alsa if it is non-zero, it enables powersaving features of the codec and the card should they exist.
