If the option -r is given to makeworld, the string "Do you want to remove these packages? [Y/n]" is written to the makepkg.log file, and not to the console. So the result is that it appears to hang, and you don't know that it is waiting for input. Additional info: * package version(s) pacman 3.0.6-2 * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: |

so it is a makepkg's issue in fact.
Is it fixed in 3.1?
"Do you want to remove these packages? [Y/n]" is printed by pacman.

Hah. The problem is that makeworld redirects error output to makepkg.conf :-P
Karolina, can you try makeworld with >> instead of 2>> on a line where it calls makepkg?
How much more output will you get in case of normal building and in case if one of packages builds with errors?
