under:
# ----------------------------------------------------------------------- # NETWORKING # ----------------------------------------------------------------------- it says: # # Don't use this for wireless interfaces, see network profiles below # and then later, under network profiles: # # Enable these network profiles at boot-up. These are only useful # if you happen to need multiple network configurations (ie, laptop users) # Huh? i'm supposed to use network profiles or not? Because I do have wireless but I don't need multiple profiles as i have a stationary computer.. And also should i comment out eth0="eth0 192.168.0.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255" INTERFACES=(eth0) If i choose to use network profiles regardless of what is told? And where does netcfg2(and really all other wireless programs) fit into all of this? Can this be clarified in the file? :) Thanks! |

This text will be rewritten for netcfg2. Netcfg2 will be the new
"arch" way of doing wireless networks, replacing old netcfg.
Hmm... I hope netcfg2 will come out soon then :)
netcfg2 is already available in [testing]. Just enable it at the
bottom of your pacman config and do pacman -S testing/netcfg
yes, i should have been clearer; i meant I hope it will be
released, and also the changes to rc.conf soon as it's very
confusing(atleast to me) right now and i'm not a newbie with
neither arch nor linux..
in core i mean...
