My wireless adapter does not work with netcfg. It is a netgear wg111 usb adapter and uses the rtl8187 kernel module. There is therefore no reason to use ndiswrapper. The problem is that the netcfg script uses lwconfig without doing 'ifconfig <interface> up' prior to that. I added the following to the script to get it to work: if [ "$IWOPTS" ]; then ifconfig $WIFI_INTERFACE up # Added by me! iwconfig $WIFI_INTERFACE $IWOPTS [ $? -ne 0 ] && stat_fail && return [ "$WIFI_WAIT" ] && sleep $WIFI_WAIT fi Additional info: * Package : initscripts * Version : 2007.11-2 Steps to reproduce: Just run netcfg with a wireless adapter setup that does not use ndiswrapper. |

Additional comments about closing: netcfg2 in [testing] which will replace netcfg, handles this particular driver use case.

(I suggest you to put [testing] repo _after_ all others and do pacman -S testing/netcfg - this way you won't get all other testing packages during -Syu)
