No matter what alignment I use the text floats a little under the top window.
I tried downgrading, after downgrade it works.
conky -a top_left -t "TEST"
I love horizontal Conky too :)
Could you also post your config Xavier?

The hardcoded "default" gap_y for conky was changed to 60 from 5 for some reason. It wasnt mentioned in the changelog. You might want to file a bug upstream -- there might be some odd reason.
gap_y is a configurable option, so just putting "gap_y 5" into your configs should fix it.
