DetailsI'm wondering if the gensplash package is still useful and/or if it still works. I'm mainly asking because one of its makedepends, klibc-beyond, is no longer in community repo. If gensplash no longer work, we might as well remove it too (we should wait the maintainer's opinion before doing so).

This task depends upon
There is fbsplash package in Unsupported that is a replacement for gensplash and doesn't need a patched kernel.
Moreover, fbsplash package can be named splashutils (as original tarball) :-/.
There's also splashutils-lite which I think may be useful as alternative package.
Also, I haven't found any references to utils from miscsplashutils in splashutils sources - are they still needed as a dependency? :-/
Oh, and the new homepage is http://fbsplash.berlios.de/
If this thing is dead, just remove it totally, it is not even worth moving to unsupported.
