Description:

I updated xorg-server (from 1.2.0-5 to 1.4-4) under an environment that run in vmware, and after that the mouse wasn't working. The cursor was moving, but when I right clicked, it opened the menu in the bottom-right corner, wherever was my cursor.
Therefore, I restored old version of xf86-vmmouse (12.4.1-1 instead of 12.4.3-1), but the mouse wasn't working at all (the cursor wasn't moving, and I couldn't click). I had to also restore the old version of xorg-server (and also all xf86-... drivers) to have it work allright.

Additional info:
* xorg-server-1.4-4 and xf86-vmmouse-12.4.3-1: mouse doesn't work
* xorg-server-1.2.0-5 and xf86-vmmouse-12.4.1-1: mouse does work

Steps to reproduce:
- Prerequisite: vmware (under WinXP for me but should work under Linux too) with archlinux installed in it and xorg-server and xf86-vmmouse packages installed
- update xorg-server and xf86-vmmouse

I have the same problem. I am using xorg's "plain" mouse driver as a workaround, but it has some glitches vmmouse didn't have. VMWare is 6.02 (this is an xorg upstream bug probably)

Let me note that this patch has been included in Debian and Ubuntu, so it should be safe.

I can confirm this bug. I can also confirm, that the patch is working.

This is a bug in xorg-server, not in xf86-input-vmmouse (the vmmouse patch is a workaround for the bug in xorg-server). A few hours ago there have been upstream backports from the master branch to the server-1.4 branch to fix this bug, we'll update our patch snapshot to track changes in that branch soon.

JGC is this fixed?

Still needs patches in my arch box, with xorg-server 1.4.2-1 and xf86-input-vmmouse 12.4.3-1

Is this fixed in xorg-server 1.5.2 and the xf86-input-vmmouse 12.5.1.1?
